I loved so many photos from this session that you might be scrolling for a while! It was a windy day in Kansas. (Like that attempt at humor? lol) Really though, it was a windier day than normal and I double checked with Megan to make sure that she didn’t want to reschedule for another day. She gave me my favorite response (this is paraphrased): I have confidence in you, let’s go for it. And I’m so glad we did.
This family is the real deal – two hard-working parents, a tween and two toddlers. Oh my goodness what love they have for each other. I got all teary-eyed when I finished up their slideshow, because their honest moments together were so incredibly special. I get really emotionally invested in my families and their pictures. I know how hard they work and how much balance it takes to raise a family and was so honored that they let me into their family for an hour.
So between the wind, the littlest one that wasn’t going to give me a smile no matter what we did, and bright sun – I was absolutely thrilled with the pictures I got of their family. This is exactly what a family portrait session with me will look like, real moments, real personalities – the good & the candid – all curated to tell the story of your family right now.
On an end note, isn’t Megan gorgeous? What a beautiful family she and Jordan have created.
Enjoy. 🙂
behind the photos | session was shot with a Canon 5D III + 35L + 85 1.8. (mostly 35 mm) all color photos were hand edited in Lightroom and b+w were edited with Mastin Labs presets + hand edits. I cannot even tell you how much I love moody b+w edits, the wind and light were perfect to convert several of my favorite shots to b+w.
