There is a large age gap between my two. Eight years to be exact. They fight like siblings should, but in truth Emry has always been super sweet with Liam and a huge help especially when he was a baby. Emry is smack dab in the middle of attitude-filled tween hormone changes and at least once a week, I remind Emry that her little brother looks up to her. That might not be fair for me to put that kind of pressure on an 11-year-old, though I like to think that it might be helping her become a better person. Or she’ll resent me for it someday. Who knows!? This parenting gig is so awesome in all it’s second-guessing glory. But for real – I am so very grateful for their relationship and hope they stay forever friends.
