Hello, I'm Rebekah. I am a documentary and portrait photographer based in Hays, KS. Will travel worldwide. Welcome to my blog, where I share my stories and photographs, in no particular order.
Classic & photojournalistic. I am a documentarian and a story teller. The in-between moments fulfill me and I am intentional to tell the story between the careful details, the solitary moments and your treasured people.
Tell me about the investment.
Wedding coverage begins at $1200. Every wedding is so perfectly unique, contact me for a tailored quote for your big day.
Is a second photographer included?
I do not employ a second photographer.
Can I see a full wedding gallery?
Absolutely. I prefer to send several so know what to expect.
What kind of equipment do you use? Do you have backups?
Canon, and absolutely. I shoot each wedding with two Canon 5D Mark III cameras and a variety of prime lenses.
Do you have insurance?
Yes! I have full liability and equipment coverage.
Can I show you my Pinterest board?
I love to see what has inspired you for your big day. Take some time to look through my work and wedding galleries, I want to make sure that you love my images before we work together. I absolutely will look through your Pinterest board, it helps me get a better idea of your style and personality. I will not exactly replicate any images from your board because your wedding is going to be so unique that I want you to embrace the in-between moments that I will document during your perfectly individual wedding day.
How many images are delivered from a wedding?
Depending on the hours of wedding day coverage, I deliver 450-600 fully edited images.
How long will it take for our images to be delivered? How do we get them?
Eight weeks. You will receive a custom link to your wedding gallery so you can share with family and friends. Family and friends can purchase prints from this link but they will not be able to download. You will receive a custom USB with all of the images and can share your photos however you wish.
Why does it take so long to edit our wedding photos?
I absolutely understand that you are excited to see your wedding photos! Eight weeks seems like forever, I get it. It is incredibly important for me to deliver your wedding day as the story that it is. I do not just deliver snapshots and call it a day. First I fine comb all of the images and only choose the best cohesive photos for your gallery. I take between 1500-2000 photos during a regular eight hour wedding. Usually two snaps of each moment, and I do this because things happen – flash doesn’t fire, my hand shakes and one is out of focus, someone closes their eyes and in the next instant they are open, etc. All day I’m composing these images and honestly some just miss the mark and the composition doesn’t work. After I choose the photos, I color correct every single image so that all of your photos have the same look. Color correcting takes many hours because I hand edit each photo. In addition I do basic blemish removal, teeth whitening, face smoothing, food off of people’s clothes, the list goes on. I am a complete perfectionist when it comes to your gallery, I literally put my heart and soul into the story of your wedding day. When I deliver a gallery, I want it to feel like you are reliving your wedding day and being able to deliver this is truly an art.
So how do we book you?
Inquire! I will see if your date is available. We can message each other, chat on Facebook, meet in person if you’re local, or if you’re out of state we will chat via phone! I want to hear all of your plans for the big day, I will share how I work and what you can expect from me. We will discuss what collection will work best for you.
In order to book your wedding date, I require a non-refundable 25% retainer fee along with a signed agreement via my online booking site.
What’s your biggest piece of advice to couples?
Talk to me. Ask any questions. I want you to have the most beautiful wedding images and that will require communication from the get go. I want you to feel completely comfortable calling me, texting me, emailing me – hiring a wedding photographer is a BIG decision and I completely understand that. The more I hear from you, the better our working relationship will be. We will be spending many hours of intimate and potentially stressful time together. The more we can be like old friends, the better!
